After targeting B B M and cellphones .the government has turned its attention towards social networks,According to a new york times report , the Union H R D ministry has demanded that social networking sites " Pre  - screen " all content in India.The move came to as a response to an allegedly offensive Facebook post about a prominent political leader.The internet immediately exploded in criticism directed towards Minister Kapil Sibal , alleging that he had no idea that how internet or social networks worked .Facebook pages and twitter hash tags insulting the minister sprang up within two hours , many of which also addressed  the darker matter of censoring criticism of politicians and curtailing freedom of expression.Representatives from Google rejected the proposal saying they already have provisions in place to take down content that is illegal and violates its policies in any country,but will not interfere in free speech on anyone's behalf irrespective of perceived controversies
